Allegory Story
An allegory is a symbolic narrative. An allegory is different from a symbol, because a symbol is just an idea or concept that can have different meanings throughout different works, but an allegory conveys abstract ideas in the form of a narrative to get a point across. It is an extended metaphor that can be presented in a literary, like in poems and novels, musical, like with compositions or with lyrics, or visual form, such as paintings, drawings or photos. It is meant to have a meaning or underlying message, outside from what you just see, hear or read. Conveying a message outside from the words shown or spoken is called rhetorical allegory, which is the way many people use allegory. The underlying meaning of an allegory typically has a moral, social, religious or political significance, and characters often personify ideas about things such as charity, greed, or envy. An allegory can be about many types of things: for example, death, favorite pastimes, childhood memories, or anything else that tells a story. A simple visual example of allegory would be the grim reaper, because it is the symbolic representation of death, and viewers understand that when they see it. In photography, we can create allegory by taking our pictures and forming them into a collage or making a slideshow out of them to tell a story. The pictures will each represent a part of the story, creating a montage of photos that make an allegory story.
